American Heist – Virtual game
Using the video-conferencing tool of your choice and our collaborative platform, dive into the heart of a virtual investigation.
Your mission is to help Colonel Joey Bishop locate the “Flowing Hair Dollar” while tackling a wide range of engaging online team challenges. For further details of the game scenario, see Page 6.
During the game, each of you will take on a specific team role and have access to unique data. Communication will therefore be vital to complete your investigation.
Will you be the Geek, highly conversant with all things techie; the Professor, calm and analytical; or the Commando, a warrior/explorer that is not held back by fear or trepidation?
The “Flowing Hair Dollar” was the very first dollar coin issued by the US federal government and minted in 1794
With an estimated value of over $10 million, the “Flowing Hair Dollar” is the most valuable single coin in the world.
In a dramatic robbery, the “Flowing Hair Dollar” has been stolen from the famous Stack’s Bowers gallery in New York.
Colonel Joey Bishop, a former member of US Special Undercover Forces, has returned to service to track down the perpetrators of the heist.
Help Joey build his team to take on this mission. Be aware that absolute discretion is required for this classified operation.
It’s the big day. Your facilitator is waiting for you on the video-conferencing platform agreed in advance with your project manager.
Through a dramatic introduction, your facilitator welcomes and then draws participants into the scenario.
In the persona of Colonel Joey Bishop, your facilitator outlines the nature of the game and rules of play.
At the close of the briefing, participants are arranged into teams and sent to virtual breakout rooms where each team goes to the online game portal and starts the game.
During the briefing, participants were given the link to the online game portal.
A first task is to agree and allocate roles within the team (Geek, Commando or Professor).
The team then embarks on their game and soon encounter challenges to test their teamwork.
Communication and collaboration will be required. Each role within the game is holding specific information that will need to be shared and combined with others to find answers.
Can you help the Colonel find the “Flowing Hair Dollar”?
Your investigation is complete. It’s now time for Colonel Bishop to assemble all participants for a debrief.
Let’s take stock. How did teams decide to approach their investigation? What strategies were adopted? What worked? What didn’t?
At this point, there is an option to add a final whole-group challenge, giving all teams an opportunity to dramatically move u the leaderboard.
If your time is limited, the results can be emailed to you for sharing at a suitable time.
You are the Commando: find the missing word to unlock a vitally needed clue to riddle The Prof. is attempting to solve.
The Geek has received a video-clip with specific instructions detailing which wire to cut… only she/he has this info. You’ll need to ask for their help. WARNING – you only have 60 seconds to cut the right wire!
